Celebrating Over 40 Years of Tradition
The Miss Rodeo Arizona Pageant is a proud and enduring tradition that honors the spirit of the American West. Now in its 42nd year, the pageant continues to provide young women with a platform to represent Arizona’s rich rodeo heritage on a national stage.
The first Miss Rodeo Arizona, Karen Womack Vold, held the title in 1958 after being crowned queen at the "Rodeo of Rodeos." At the time, there was no separate state pageant—Arizona’s representative to the Miss Rodeo America Pageant was simply the reigning queen of that event.
In 1983, the official Miss Rodeo Arizona state pageant was established to ensure a fair and impartial selection process. The goal was to choose a queen who could represent all of Arizona’s rodeo committees throughout the state and serve as Arizona’s delegate at the national level.
